1858 Flying Eagle XF 40 Appears To Be 1858/7

Jimbo48 Valued Member United States 262 Posts	Posted Yesterday 3:58 pm I recently purchased an XF40 1858 LL Flying Eagle. When I received it, I noticed a broken wingtip and also a die chip above the first 8 midway between the 8 and eagle's breast. There is also a trace of the 7 above the last 8. On Rick Snow's website he has an 1858 graded XF40 that is also not designated 1858/7. He even comments in the description that he is puzzled that they didn't catch it. It appears that the grading companies don't automatically designate if a variety exists. Report this Post to the Staff
