1942 Tombac Nickel Just Purchased - Coin Community Forum

Levaril Valued Member Canada 289 Posts	Posted 01/04/2021 12:39 am We'll kind of a weird one here. This one basically cost nothing on ebay but I bought it because it looked odd. I can't quite figure out what is going on with it. It's a tombac but it actually looks more like copper in the light. Kind of a yellowish copper colour. It appears to have a fair bit of lustre still and very little wear. Something has happened to it though. Unfortunately the pictures don't really do a good job of showing it. The last couple are with my iPhone and a loupe. Anyone have any idea what I'm looking at? Lev Report this Post to the Staff

Years ago, I completed a type set of Canadian 'Nickels'. The Tombac Beaver in uncirculated was the most elusive type to find. Report this Post to the Staff
