With the wear on the braid and hair, it looks EF-45

Solid 45, 50 would not surprise. Choice for grade.

Nice full vine (16 stem). Some of what looks like wear may be soft strike. At least XF-45

50-50 chance that PCGS would grade that as "Genuine"...

I think it's got enough kick to go AU-50.

Would be EF45 at ICCS, but I have to agree with SPP ,
NGC or PCGS would likely details grade this piece .
It looks cleaned and retoned .
Nice Early strike though .
H Great pix as usual !

@Pacificoin - could you explain what you're seeing that makes you think this has been cleaned and re-toned?

EF 40, maybe with a rim ding notation at 5 and 11.

Nice coin though, I would have a happy home for it.

If that's cleaned and re-toned, I'd like to shake the hand of the guy who did it.

Me too coin frog lol. And then shake the hand of the ones that correctly picked that it was cleaned out. To me it looks like a rather beautiful coin. One that I'm missing from my collection I might add . Just sayn. Lol.

Although if there is any cleaning I would say it might have been just a soap and water kinda of thing. The Center of the coin is darker than the outside fields where the coin is most commonly handled. A soap and water cleaning might clean the outside fields a bit more than the Center which could explain the tones we see present. Just my theory. No red flags go up for me.

No doubt this is a nice coin, however I too see evidence of cleaning.

With so many circulation marks on this coin, there should be a noticeable amount of accumulation and toning in the tiny indentations. Its just too clean looking. All those little indentations and tiny scratches should basically have dirt in them. I mean the thing is approx 162 years old.
