Chopped Triumphs Pillar of the Community United States 562 Posts	Posted 03/04/2021 07:10 am I have a slabbed 2000(w) ASE that is part of the Millennium coinage and currency set. My question is What is the real mintage? the Red Book says a little over 9,000,000 and NGC is saying 75,000. Would the 75,000 be part of the 9,000,000? I think it would be but not sure.. Thanks all! commems CCF Master Historian of USA Commemoratives United States 12266 Posts	Posted 03/04/2021 07:41 am There were 75,000 of the Millennium C&C Sets produced; the ASEs they include are just a small piece of the total ASE mintage that was produced at West Point and Philadelphia (the 9.2 million figure you've seen). The set sold out at the Mint. The driver behind the sell-out was the burnished Sacagawea dollar coin, not the ASE. As the ASE did not have a mint mark, the only way to get the Millennium Set designation (and thus confirmation of its West Point striking) on a PCGS holder was to submit the entire package in its original condition so that PCGS could see that the ASE was part of an original set. .
