What do you think? - A grease filled or worn die (or just a weak strike?)..........

I'm not sure it's grease or just a really weak strike. Interesting!

I've seen many like this. I assume it has something to do with grease in the recesses of the die.

A very nice example of a grease-filled die (we know that that area wasn't "tooled-off")
