Even if you zoom in? So it caught my eye awhile back but thought it was my eyes playing tricks on me.. but few days later it was brought back to my attention..

Even by zooming in, it is not a G. It is as explained just a marking on the coin.
What you have is impossible to happen during the striking of the coin.
Letters simply do not appear from nowhere.
( With the exception of a dropped letter which yours is not)

Yes, new close-in, large and sharp photos needed. Given the pic posted, I agree with the comments above. Heck, I even 'see' the letter M toward the rear of the bust's neck.

1. Might be a grade added on by the last person to have it.
2. Might be a Mint Mark from the Georgia Mint. OH! No such thing?
3. Might be a hit so then it's just damaged.

Since it isn't raise but indented, its just PMD as other had responded. |
