1972 Kennedy Half Dollar- Doubled Die Reverse / DDR ?

Carla Lee New Member United States 13 Posts	Posted 05/30/2021 10:18 pm Hello again! If you can't tell, I have been going through some half dollars today. My bank had some feller pay a bill in rolls of half dollars. They were sure to tell me, "There is no silver though." This has been a very good learning experience for me though for sure! Again, I can't thank all of you enough for teaching me what you know. So, here is a 1972 Kennedy half dollar. Is this a DDR? It is not marked as an error for PCGS, but it looks really clear to me. When the coin was struck the machine moved a tiny bit. it well kind of smeared the lettering of sorts. The experts can explain it much better then me. Collecting since 1972. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 05/31/2021 4:39 pm Look for the doubled dies on the centers of devices, not on the outside edges of devices. That is where Machine Doubling happens, a lot. A doubled die will show spread on the center of the devices: If your coin does not have the spread on the centers of the devices, move on to the next coin.
