So, anyone have some proof sets that have toned?

My favorite are the older flat packs, and finding some toners in there - except the nickels, those seem to have always turned gold.

Yeah, I've seen a few blue nickels as well (none that I own unfortunately)

I do however, own this.

I have a 1974 Silver Proof Eisenhower dollar that toned while in the sealed holder. Unfortunately, the toning is really unattractive.

It had an uneven milky haze on the obverse, it almost looked like the coin was painted with a primer.

All of my Eisenhower 40% silver dollars have this to one degree or another, the proofs showing it worst. They were like that when I bought them still in the OGP. I have never seen one that did not have this problem, other than ones that were dipped.

I have alot of proof sets. 55 and up. Sometimes when I look at a set years later I will find some toning here and there. I think the 55 to 64 nickels are the biggest ones. Alot of them are blue. One thing I have noticed too is the 2000 Clad 1/4 proof sets bought separtely have a toning problem. Like a light haze around the outside of the coin , both sides. Not all in the set , but 3 out of 5.

yeah, it seems like they had a tendency to turn Gold or Blue. I've seen only a few that have kept their original color.
