Is this disturbance between rim and lettering rot or error? Also, looks like the rim took a hit. Seems strange the dislodged copper plate is still stuck to coin. Thanks All.

The rim was damaged. Not a plus for the coin. Looks like part of the plating folded over on that area.

Yes strange, but still seems like the most logical explanation. I wonder if you could get a sharp point under there and peel it off.

Just than angle it was hit. The zinc doesn't stand up well with contact with a harder surface.
