Nice find for sure. I think Zincolns are inherently unstable.

We don't typically see them at that location. Well done @cons. For sure store in low humidity to slow the zinc deterioration.

100% pure acetone and if that doesn't help maybe try Verdi-Care. Then put in a 2x2 and make sure to flatten the staples.

I'm not seeing much on the way of zinc rot...that being said, DO NOT soak over night maybe 20 minutes to hour but keep a eye on it.
Experiment with a junk coin on soaking,..... I once forgot about a soaking and the next day the cent was completely black.
