I know more than a decade ago Sandy Campbell ran into issues shipping gold coins with Canada Post, and switched to courier services. I use FedEx for expensive stuff like this. I know Hugh Wood Insurance does offer options to cover shipping of coins for various reasons (e.g., sales, certification, etc.).
