Hey all, showing off another one of my recent purchases. I've never owned a proof Morgan before, and this one came up for a very good price on ebay. I did not expect it to look so good under diffuse light. The reflective fields to an incredible job of hiding the abundant hairlines. Under direct light it's much more obvious. Either way I am happy with the coin!

Here are my best attempts at photographing the coin

I really struggle with taking pics through a slab. Yours came out quite well. Congrats on the pick-up!

Good looking coin. If you are a gambler, consider cracking out and dipping out that spot on the Reverse. If it were mine I'd put dip on a Q-tip and locally apply....but it's not mine.

Beautiful coin! I think they may have been a little harsh on that grade, but I'm certainly no expert on grading classic proofs. Congrats!

Thank you all for the comments!

Jimbucks: I have actually considered it, theres also a small spot on the obverse between stars 1 and 2 that may benefit from it. I have experience dipping modern proofs with lots of success but none with classic proofs. I dont know that I want this to be my first experience, haha.

John1: I actually checked that out last night! Ive identified it as die pair 2.

Bump111: When getting it in hand that was my first thought as well, but when looking at it under direct light youll see a lot of hairlines in the fields(and some on the cheek as you can see on the second obverse pic). It's these hairlines that kill the grade. If you look up the trueview youll get a better idea of how extensive the hairlines are, but they dont look nearly that bad in hand.
