I hate to bust your bubble, but THAT 55-D may have come right out of an original roll. Hard to prove either way.
The quality the mint was dispensing in the mid-1950's left something to be desired.
Just return it and get your money back or keep it and leave the feedback you deem appropriate.

Coin does look good! Could have come from a roll in this condition but the hairlines all over the reverse fields are a dead giveaway. I'll stop bothering you all. I'm not returning the coins. Not worth the money to ship or the hassle I know this seller will give me now that I have called him out. I'll just go quietly out of this thread and have my own fun I guess.

You keep mentioning these coins aren't worth the shipping.
You WILL NOT have to pay for shipping, he will send you a pre-paid shipping label.

I don't think I've ever been to a brick & mortar coin shop who didn't sell coin cleaner.

I've bought from him before and also had good results. And there are tons of dealers who sell coin cleaners.

I've bought a couple things from him years ago. One was ok, the other totally altered surfaces. The majority of his raw coins are problematic IMO, but does list some problem free here and there. He's also on my "do not buy" list when it's comes to raw coins.
If you select "item not as described" as a reason for return, then yes, shipping will be refunded and prepaid shipping label sent.
As others have mentioned, leaving negative feedback will do nothing. Feel free to voice your concerns, but I wouldn't hold your breath on making any impact.

Is there a running list of ebay sellers to avoid? I know a lot of people don't want to spend time bad mouthing other people but it would be nice to have a bad list to go with the good.

I have purchased a few inexpensive U.S. coins from him and haven't had any issues.
