Look good, especially if the price was right.

Those are nice looking coins - congratulations on the purchase.

How far along are you on competing a type set of classic silver commemoratives? From your occasional posts it seems like you are making good progress.

I am collecting a type set, 50 pieces total. I need 24 more. I probably will never get the Hawaii, Hudson, Old Spanish Trail or Antietam. My LCS has 13 more on my want list. The Gettysburg was $370, he is pretty reasonable price wise. I have a few slabbed still to breakout, I'll post pictures when I do.

I like them all! What made you decide to pick up the HTT? Are you interested in them as well?

I think those were hard times tokens made during the 1837-1844 period (the first major economic depression in our country's history)

I wrote about a display of Hard Times Tokens I put together at the 2021 Raleigh Money Expo in a previous post. It has a writeup part way down the string that gives a brief overview of HTTs. You can look at that and get an idea about these cool pieces. As always, it's a good idea to look at a good reference book before diving in too deeply. HTTs are a favorite of mine.
