With the Mercanti Heraldic Silver Eagle Design coming to an end in 2021 and being replaced with the Emily Damstra "Eagle Landing" Design, Would it be wise to start obtaining the Lower Mintage Mercanti Proof's simply for the reason of potential increase of value and demand in the near future? Talking with other silver eagle collectors, as well as myself, they simply do not like the design of the New Type 2 so called "Wounded Eagle" or "Sunshine Mint Eagle" design, and will not be purchasing/collecting the new Proof's. History dictates as a coin with a very popular design ends production, the demand and value goes up. As Investors say,"Buy low /Sell high. What say you?

Not sure of the extra cost to get a COA slabbed since I bought my 2019-S Enhanced Reverse Proof at a Coin Show which included the COA Slabbed. I would like to know the cost myself. Maybe someone will chime in keith12. I know PCGS and NGC both do it for a additional fee.

From PCGS:
* If the COA is serialized or signed the COA and coin must be submitted to PCGS in sealed U.S. Mint packaging. To encapsulate your COA, We charge a $20 holdering fee and an additional $25 If the sealed COA is signed.
*Un-signed and Non-Serialized COA's from any year can be submitted for encapsulation at any time.

That was the key on this one. They did the signed/numbered COA. People couldn't open the packaging and had to send them in together. It was a gamble but I did it with mine. Now I'm glad I did but it wasn't a special number or signed. I think they were trying to avoid someone finding a 70 and putting it with the serial number 1 signed COA.

I don't know if long term they will really increase in value. Probably only a few of the millions of ASE produced are anything but mint state. I have a few proofs and 5 of the lowest mintage ones (including 2 2019 S ERPs) and the 2020 V75 (I had 2 but sold 1). Like I tell others, if you like them buy them. If you don't don't.

I was lucky enough to get the 2019 s enhanced reverse proof from the mint. It remains in the original shipped shipping package from the mint, I wonder what the COA number is?
