Hi. I am new to the forum. I have an odd 1964 proof set. It is not the standard set in an envelope like the mint issues. It is in a hard plastic case. Is this maybe a scarce 1964 SMS set. Thanks. Mgfrd

You do not have a 1964 SMS set, only a handful of those exist. You have a normal 1964 Proof Set in an aftermarket holder.

Welcome, those are a very nice collection of coins. I also agree that they are just a gathering of the same year of coins in an after market plastic holder. The U S Mint never put out a holder like that, again very nice coins.....

That is a aftermarket Capital Plastics holder. And the so called 1964 SMS coins were never issued as a set in any kind of holder.
