I posted the picture of this coin on another forum and I think this would be a better place for discussion. Someone introduced me to PCGS photograde and it helped a lot, but I still need more opinions about this coin just to make sure. Coinhunter said the coin is cleaned and it is most likely F and maybe if I'm lucky it would qualify as a very low VF but the cleaning is what's killing the value apparently. Is $40-$50 a good value for the coin people would be willing to pay? Is it worth sending the coin to the US grading ($55 fee)? I keep seeing uglier and lower quality coins on ebay that are selling for much more than $50 but they may be overvaluing the lie 1844/51. Please comment on this topic.I need everyone's advice.
