I'm no expert but a Cud only occurs on the rim of the coin I don't see that here

16609: I'm no expert either! :) I thought Cud was a just an extra spot or smudge of some sort! Thanks! So, whatever that is on the right side of the stairs!

. Not a Cud,it looks like a die chip. Not a die crack, looks like a scratch on the coin. America looks normal to me. John1

to the CCF Use the glossary on the sidebar for explanation of a Cud. What you have is as previously noted a die chip and damage on the window and letter "I"

Cuds are die breaks on the rim. Maybe a Die Chip (raised area) next stairs. The rest looks like PMD.

I've actually never found a coin that had an error. So this having a die chip is exciting for me. :) Also thanks to the one for pointing out the glossary for me, I appreciate it! Lol, die chip seems to be the only thing missing from it!

All looks like contact marks. A die chip is a void that develops on a die leaving a void. The the void when filled is a chip on the coin that is raised. The area in question looks incuse (damage to a coin). That is what I see a contact mark. (incuse) Contact marks push the metal aside, thus making it look like there was a chip, when there really isn't.

with above. Remember a Cud will 'always' always involve the rim of a coin. the line across the window looks incuse, thus making a contact mark or just simple damage.
