I'd say AU-58 with low eye appeal.

tough call due to the blotchy toning. some of what we are seeing is actual toning albeit not the best eye appeal but I believe the coin may have been improperly stored and may not grade straight.

the 86(P) should be sharp and the eagle is pointing me to the coin being circulated but the cheek is pretty clean so its a tough call

AU58 or MS62 possible details designation. I'm leaning MS62

Could be MS but hard to tell with the blotchy toning.

Very very hard to tell from the photo due to the toning. I've seen tons like these graded ms64 65 65 and it leaves you scratching your head. So it would just be a guess on this one and I wouldn't like to hazard one.

Because OP provided such great high resolution pictures, I was able to zoom in on the dark toned portion of Liberty's cheek. I can clearly see that the surface in the toned parts of the cheek, neck and field are pitted. I don't see any wear on this coin and would say it is MS details Surface Damage.

I guess this surface has gone a bit beyond toning. I appreciate the responses. It's only a coin I was looking at.

The pitting looks like the rusted die VAM. Maybe VAM 4A? If so, it's a tough one to snag.

I'm not seeing any wear on the reverse. IMHO, the obverse weakness is due to the die and strike quality. I'm tentatively at MS-63.
