Are coins with missing letter worth messing with. This 1947 s has the 2nd "t" in "trust"

No. Most likely a Struck Through Grease.

Looks like a Partial Grease Filled Die.
Not uncommon and adds no value.

Also agree its a Grease Strike but always cool to find missing letters!

a grease filled - in this case 'T'
Grease filled devices are fairly common - but keep looking the greasers to find are the ones that almost obliterate the entire face of a coin.

I find those just nncommon enough to be interesting and worth saving. Someone like me might pay a tiny premium for that one, maybe 10 to 20 cents if I did not yet have an example for that date.

If you'd pay 10-20 cents for these you'll be broke in no time flat. Minor greasers are very, very common.
