There are 25 cents of 1976 Proof in my collection. When I started to systematize my collection, I ran into the problem that the coins of 25 cents 1976-S exist in several variations of execution. How do I find out which one I have?   |

You can use the tissue test to see if this 40% silver or cupro-nickel clad. |

There are five. But first you'll need a good scale. The Nickel/copper are 5.67 grams, the silver-clad (40%) are 5.75 grams. Philadelphia and Denver are the two circulation strike nickel copper, San Francisco a proof. The two silver clad are both circulation and proof finish. The one in the image appears to be a silver-clad proof, which a scale would confirm.

Less errors over here compared to the USA , which makes sense with the mass difference in are mintage numbers and population. That said. Canadian coins are my main focus but I still enjoy it. It makes me branch out to the USA and other countries for more variety. |

Yes, it would be boring, and my albums would be a LOT thinner and lighter to carry too  So I do like all the different varieties, but here is what I would like to see: In one single location, ONE giant list, one click of the mouse button, a list of every single variety of US coin the mint produced. Not known errors, die events or anything like that just a list of coins and their many iterations and metal compositions in one simple location - one I can print out using 3 reams pf paper and wallpaper my office with. |
