Is This A Common Fault - Coin Community Forum

triggersmob Pillar of the Community Australia 9428 Posts	Posted 03/12/2006 09:23 am I have just noticed that an Australian 2005 $2 coin, that I have, appears to stamped off to one side marginally. RenaL Pillar Of The Community Turkey 1205 Posts	Posted 03/13/2006 03:54 am I see a lot of coins with this fault, misalingment of the die is quite common in almost every country I guess. But it is usually half a milimeter eccentric from the axis, so not extremely noticable and probably within the mint tolerances. Eccentricity more than that could be considered as rarity - if gets out of the mint of course:) Report this Post to the Staff

tonyozcan Valued Member Australia 65 Posts	Posted 03/16/2006 7:38 pm These are very common I have a few of these and worst than these. I have noticed mostly is the 2005 $2 off centre struck. Also there are a few in the $1 Dancing man as I have been told from dealers the Mint have been slack on there production. They might be a collecters delight If someone is on the hunt for them.
