State Quarters And Territory Quarters

jimmy28303 New Member United States 32 Posts	Posted 02/17/2009 6:21 pm I have decided to collect mint rolls of the State Quarters and unfortunatly I am paying the price for it since they are done making them. My question is, for the territory quarters(i notice the DC one is already out) is the cheapest method of getting them straight from the mint for $32 a pair or is there a better place to get them? Morgans Dad Pillar of the Community United States 5632 Posts	Posted 02/17/2009 9:38 pm TD Bank has a coin program" penny's coins" inwhich they , once you sign up, will notify you as to when your nice new rolls of state ( TO LATE FOR THEM ) or territory quarters are ready for you to pick-up, at $10.00 per roll, I have done this since the beginning in 1999 and after much focus and constant checking, have more than 150 rolls+, sometimes if they run out they will, just for you, sit down and re-order as many rolls as you would like, at the $10.00 cost, of course this is all with-in reason, just be nice and they will do what they can for you and if they are out ask, nicely, could you please order some more for me because I was late to get to the bank to pick-up the rolls, good luck, Mike the bank use to be called COMMERCE BANK.... I wonder if you looked up the nearest T D Bank, would they let you sign up and you could arrange for the coins to be shipped to you , once the bank receives them? Report this Post to the Staff
eaglefoot Pillar of the Community United States 6326 Posts	Posted 02/19/2009 09:40 am When any new Qtr. comes out.....and my bank gets them in.....I get a roll for face value from them and a few singles for folders. The conditions of the coins are generally very good......lots of bag marks and dings sometimes, but they'll likely be the same ones that the Mint is selling in their rolls, just wrapped by another company. You can decide if you want to pay more for the United States Mint wrapper or not......sometimes that does bring a premium....but in my opinion, it isn't worth the extra money to do that. We've just had 10 years completed with the State Qtr. and now we begin 11 years with the Parks and then 11 more years with that possibly continuing.....so.......THAT WOULD BE A LOT OF MONEY TO PAY FOR THOSE "MINT WRAPPERS" ! So......in answer to the question......The cheapest place to get new rolls......YOUR BANK ! And by the way.....my bank had a lot of the Uncirc. Rolls in their vault from past years that nobody wanted.......I got those too !.....Might not hurt to ask...as they say !
