How is the date shown on the coin? I read the legend "ANNO MDCLXXXII" on the obverse. I interpret this Roman numeral value as 1682, not 1628. Am I misreading the date, or is it expressed elsewhere on the coin? Report this Post to the Staff

There is indeed a 1628 salzburg commemorative taler, but it was issued for the consecration of the new cathedral. It looks like NGC mistakenly switched a couple of numbers in the date on your slab.
