Do any of the 2009 silver maples have the traditional maple leave reverse, or do they all have the firebird (vancouver olympics) reverse?

I received 400 of the standard Maple Leaf, 2009 in late November 2008, and at Kitco (while they had them listed) there were 2 separate listed Maple, being the regular and olympic (at higher price). I wish they would offer the silver maple olympic, but it seems the only time they did have them, it was 'shipping to US only'.

I read somewhere that the RCM sells bullion coins to only a handful of dealers, I wonder if they are all in the U.S.? It looks like all of the silver maples for '09 are all being sold from the U.S.

Supposedly, the chartered banks in Canada are dealers for RCM bullion; however, it appears that they didn't see the memo. None of the banks in my area even know how to get them or how to sell them, but that may not be the case in Toronto or Montreal where the banks bullion desks are located.

Scotiabank is the only major bank that I am aware of in Canada, which sells bullion. As far as I am aware, RBC, BMO, and TD, do not.

Yes, that is a serious disappointment. In the late 80's and early 90's the local branches of CIBC, TD, BMO, Scotiabank had small quantities of silver and gold bullion on hand. That was all recalled to the major centres by the late 1990's. Scotia can still get bullion, but they take a very long time to deliver and I had to get the information for the bullion desk myself because even the local manager was getting the run-around and was about to give up. When the order finally arrived, she indicated that it had been shipped from New York.

I'm still hoping that Kitco gets some of the Olympic Silver Maples, but even they seem to have problems with reliable supply.
