Yes, this half is definitely an AU, or better. Franklin half dollars are tough to grade since there aren't any obvious features that wear down in a visible and progressive manner. For high grade coins you need to examine the luster to determine whether it is actually mint state. Your coin appears to have strong luster, with some dullness visible along the bottom edge of Franklin's bust. I'd guess there is enough wear to bring the grade down to AU-55.
Most Franklin half dollars are weakly-struck and do not show full detail along the lower half of the Liberty bell. Exceptional specimens have well-defined horizontal lines on the bell and are designated as "Full Bell LInes" (FBL). For certain dates a FBL example will cost much more than an ordinary coin. FYI, on your coin the bell lines are not fully detailed so it would not qualify as FBL.
