Moodi76 New Member United States 28 Posts	Posted 04/15/2023 02:56 am I figured I'd go through all my pennie's and weigh them. I came across a 2011 no mint mark that weighs 2.36. I found a few pennie's that aren't weighing what they should weigh and can't find anything online to see if they could possibly be worth something. Report this Post to the Staff

Your 3.16 cents are probably pre-1982 copper cents. There is a certain tolerance for deviation from the mass so a small difference is no big deal, approximately .10-.13g. As stated there is a tolerance above and below the standard weight, and even if slightly out of that there really is no premium. Read up on the minting process and begin to learn what a normal coin should look like - then you can spot the rare few that are truly different and not just damaged such as this one.
