luvmyCAM Pillar of the Community United States 1479 Posts	Posted 05/05/2023 10:22 am The advice never clean your coins rings true however this one was so crusted up I felt compelled to conserve it gently then a little more gently...then I went buck crazy. Yup got the crust off but look at my lovely q-tip swirls. Once again ( about every 3 years) I learn better leave restoration to the pro's. luvmyCAM Pillar of the Community United States 1479 Posts	Posted 05/05/2023 5:27 pm I paid 22 for it ANACS would be $16 plus shipping x 2 so I did some cipferin in my head and came up with 15 bucks LOL its a pretty little thing its sitting in my set next to 70+ AG G and VG others. luvmyCAM Pillar of the Community United States 1479 Posts	Posted 05/06/2023 8:23 pm thanks gold eagle I tried and chances are one more long soak may have given it a 50/50 shot at straight grade. My LCS has been coin dealer over 50 years he knows Barbers and the crust was so thick on this coin it merited the 22 dollar tag. On a side note I have used CoinConditioner on over 50 TPG submit Barbers and 36 came back straight grades from ANACS so my understanding ( for myself only) is CC if used very carefully and dabbed without slightest rub will has not likely resulted in any issues. Ii rarely hear any mention of CoinConditioner on forum...is their something negative about it I'm unfamiliar with? Report this Post to the Staff
