Hello all. Technically my name is David but my username is AugustWind.
I was introduced to coin collecting as a kid by my mother, who's now passed away.

Now, somewhat starting in the late 90s, I started again, but only really new about proof sets and 1955 DDO. Then, in 1999, I started collecting the proof sets with the State Quarters, thinking that would be a great way to start. But I apparently went overboard and realizing I needed to get rid of all the proof sets that I though would go up in value only went WAY down.

Now, starting full force again in 2020, I'm TOTALLY overwhelmed at the many varieties and errors in coins. I've got a huge amount of coins to look through from my last 20 years of pocket change

to the Forum, AugustWind! Yes, the field can be a bit overwhelming at first.
However, you've come to the right place for honest answers from knowledgeable collectors and professionals, as well as a vast repository of information.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures
