I inherited my grandfather's coin collection and my stepfather's and I started collecting years ago when I started working at a convenience store. People bring all kinds of money in there. I was thinking about selling some of it. I Could definitely use the money. Hyperinflation has finally caught up to me. I Just noticed we could sell stuff here. Is there a way on here to determine the value of something. Is ebay pretty accurate to get prices from. I noticed ebay and Google, there is a huge difference in their prices/worth information. Also, if someone could recommend a decent cheap microscope so I could take pictures to post. I bought one but the instructions were in Chinese and they didn't have an app to work with an iPhone. I also have a watch, a Rolex Daytona watch, self-perpetuating. Anyone know where I could get it evaluated?

Hi Shygirl, and welcome to the Forum.
First, you can take excellent pictures of coins with your phone using @Earle42's method. The ring light is not absolutely essential but helps - diffuse light from a window will work quite well.

Second, the best way to determine values is to check ebay's sold listings - NOT current Buy It Now asking prices.
John's advice regarding the watch is spot-on. But go to two or three, and don't accept offers until you have as much information as possible.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures
