1880-H Twenty-Five Cents - Wide 0 Or Narrow 0?

justanothercoinaddict Valued Member United States 467 Posts	Posted 12/27/2023 07:29 am Hi everyone, I'm looking for an expert opinion on a recently-acquired 1880-H quarter. Is it a Wide 0 or a Narrow 0? I have a Narrow 0 (A/V) where the Narrow 0 is obvious. On the new acquisition, the oval shape of the inside of the 0 matches the oval shape of the inside of the typical Narrow 0 - however, the 0 is really thick and much wider than the standard Narrow 0. The thickness of the 0 matches the Narrow 0 over Wide 0 variety, but there is no evidence of a repunching on the right side of the 0, as shown in Charlton. So, I'm confused. As a side note, my 1880-H Narrow 0 A/V appears to be an unpublished variety. There is an 1880-H Narrow 0 over Wide 0 A/V listed in Charlton, but not the Narrow 0 without the overpunch.
