I was going through my proof sets and I started looking at the S mint marks on a 1975 proof set. I looked at the Ike, then the dime and at that point I looked at all of the set and they all look like almost a closed S, more leaning to a funky looking eight. So, I know it is me and something I am missing and to find out what I am missing I am taking pictures and let our wonderful coin community educate me on what the real circumstances are. Thanks in advance for all of your help.

Could be the "S" mintmark punch was past it's prime/worn out.

Welcome, fantastic photography. Most of the 70s mint marks were mushy. Those are what all mine look like as well.
