How on earth did this get sent for grading? I'll say MS-65.

Nicks (obverse and reverse) and a cheek gash - MS64 - maybe 65 on a good day

'61-P is a tough coin to find well struck. Full Steps? forget about it! One of those strange anomaly's that come up in the series.

MS65 $8
MS66 $50
MS65FS $3000

first, there is no way this coin would ever grade 66. second even with these photos the steps are not even close. might be 2-3 steps tops

I can't go any higher than MS64, way too many bag hits on the obverse.
Take a look at my other hobby ... http://www.jk-dk.art

That's why they say always buy the coin and not the slab.

Actually, I'm not sure why I am even trying to upgrade if this is what PCGS says is MS66 for a 61P

I have this which seems fairly similar. Yes? No?

Looks similar especially if it is going to be an album coin. Why spend extra money?

EDIT: And it even has better steps than the MS66

Thanx everyone for the comments and feedback! Don't know why I struggled with this one. Easy Return on the graded one even though it only cost me less than $20.

I have a feeling there will be some other tough years as I work into the next couple decades of Jeffersons.
