There was a silver dollar from 1799 that from what the Red Book says was 39-40 mm which is 4cm. sounds close to your coin, but I am not an expert. may give you something to go by. Kristofferson New Member United States 29 Posts	Posted 05/15/2009 2:34 pm It appears to be a fantasy coin,a dime if that is the size. From the images it is a cast piece and not a very good casting as it is rather mushy, meaning the details are not sharp. It is possible to get very good detail on a casting. I have done lost wax casting in the past. I would guess it may not be silver but possibly white metal which does not often cast well. What a fun "coin" toke though! Report this Post to the Staff
