Mike's coins makes money off customers who are too busy or forget that they ordered, to follow up on their order. His business practices have not changed over several years - he is still a ripoff. Stay away!

We feel we must respond to these false attacks.

First, the Log Cabin Pennies were offered on the website as PRESALES -- and we communicated this on the site. When the buyers went to buy, they were shown as PRESALE on the site and also in their shopping cart. We also gave an estimated date of shipment as April 15th. Most rolls were shipped by this time.

We got ZERO boxes of these from our bank at face value. There were no banks in our area that ever received these. Also, the Mint threw everyone a curve ball by charging $4.50 a roll, and putting a limit on the number of them that we could buy from the mint. As we were selling them at $5 a roll, we could not buy them from third party sources at $20 a roll in order to ship them quicker. I hope everyone realizes why that is the case. We had to buy them when the prices went down in the secondary market, and even so we barely broke even on the whole project.

As for the first individual, he communicated the same problem to us and our records show we did ship to him in March. We offered, despite his vicious emails, to replace the roll, as we have done in other cases where the rolls got lost in the mail.

As for the last poster, the only rolls that are still oustanding are those who specifically requested P & D rolls. Far fewer P rolls were minted, and thus are more difficult to find than D rolls, so those who specifically requested the Ps were delayed more than others.

Then I too shall reply,

On March 27th, I replied to a note that was sent by Mikes coins on the pennies:

Hi,
And thank you for your note. If you would like to refund my money, That would be fine. I pre-ordered 4 rolls from you. Please verify when the money has been refunded so I can check my statement and good luck at getting those pennies.

Tom Urban

To which I received not even a courtesy email or response. I gave the option to refund my money.
-------------------------------------------------------
Then on April 17th, I sent another note, since I didn't get a tracking number, to which I received no reply.

Hi Mike and team,
I just wanted to touch base and ask if you have received any of my emails.A few weeks back, when you first sent a note on the Lincoln Penny's, I sent a note back stating if you had to send me a refund, you could, I never received my refund,or any note back for that matter so I hoped I was still getting the Lincolns.
Then earlier this week, you sent a note stating that everyone should have a shipping confirmation by Friday, which was wonderful news, but now Friday has come and gone,,and no shipping information. Is there any status on my order?

I guess I am just concerned because I haven't heard anything.Thank you and have a nice day.

Tom Urban
----------------------------------------------------
Then, to follow up on the shipping confirmation note,I sent the following:

--------------------------------------------------------
I have changed some of the private information in my notes, but other than that, everything above is what I sent you.
I never heard anything back on any of these emails. I clearly, nicely gave the option to refund my money on the first email because I knew the hassle caused by these pennies.I have been nothing but courteous in all of my emails, yet have heard nothing back from Mike's coins. Don't you think an email would have been nice to those still waiting on there orders due to the problem getting the P mint marks ? Anyhow, This shouldn't even have needed to be posted on a forum and should have been taken care of between your business and myself.

Please refund my money if you still are having trouble getting the coins which I don't understand either, being there are hundreds of the rolls on ebay the P mintmark and has been for awhile now.

Mike's Coins never changes - the beat goes on. Absolutely the worst coin dealer on ebay IMHO. I am amazed that ebay hasn't acted by now. The beat goes on with a new cast of victims.

I know what I posted was a lot, but I wanted to show my first post had evidence behind it. If I would have received some kind of personal email concerning my order it would have been different, but to send almost half a dozen emails with not one returned, I feel it was cause for concern. I know now to stay clear of some dealers.

urbnlgnd, I will say you do have patience, you have shown this and deserve better treatment. I know if anyone had a business like this and wanted to keep "Customers Happy", all they would have to do is go to the same site of their venue is and bid, like other's, on some boxes of P&D Lincoln Cents, end of problem. Everyone is happy, however as you can see by the "We feel we have to reply" message, they barely broke even. This is exactly why this venue is a problem, Honor vs Profit, some just see $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$,while other's "PAY" for this with out regard or concern, from the seller.........PS: NO-ONE, wants to hear excuses, especially when they have been so patient, Honor over Profit...........

I almost purchased some stuff from Mike's Cons (intentional) and I'm glad I didn't. Thanks for exposing this unscrupulous seller!

Seems to me to be a "ticklish endeavor" to sell inventory that one doesn't have........including a "PRE-SALE".....
Might be much wiser to actually acquire and procure the "stock" FIRST and THEN sell it.
Fewer problems will arise for the "seller" and the "buyer" if this was done.......whether you're talking about the new "Cents" or any other coin or materials.

I'm considering doing a "PRE-SALE" on the Brooklyn Bridge.......anybody care to make a first offer ? ........... ....sorry.....

Let me get this straight, you are selling the "entire" Bridge, or just the Brooklyn side??

The "bank wrapped rolls" ie. Stringer rolls are being found to NOT contain all "Log Cabin" Cents

Is this true? I just picked up 6 of these rolls from my bank (at face value, obviously) to keep in my collection. They are Stringer rolls. Should I open them anyway to make sure? The teller told me they came straight out of a new box of cents so I just assumed they were all the same.

I have not actually procured any of the soil property on "either side". So, technically and officially I can only sell "the bridge" itself. I have ownership of just "the bridge". And I'm willing to part with this important and wondeful piece of history ONLY IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT !

That sounds like you might be alright there....if it was "for sure" a whole box of the '09 Cents like the teller said......you'd be good i'd expect......but you could never be 100% sure without opening them I guess.
Of course that's the satisfaction of the "Two Roll Sets" packaged by the Mint.....you "know" what's in there !
