The roll 5 search is complete. You can read about it here: http://goccf.com/t/474753The contest is now concluded, and I have the privilege of naming the two winners. Roll 5 contained a total of 4 additional nickels dated 1941, 1946 or 1954-D. So the final contest guessing ledger looks like this:
Petespockets55 6
Cdncoins 7
ijn1944 8
GMS5 9
chipjones 10
loonielewy 11
igwt79 12
Roll 4 & 5 Totals 13
jbuck 13
ratman4762 14
nfine 15
mrwhatisit 16
I6609 17
rubbudo 19
Joshu-a 21
mcshilling 22
Zurie 24
jbuck, with an exact guess of 13 coins wins his choice of the two prizes. Ask that jbuck post in this thread which of the prizes he prefers, then send me a PM with mailing address. Both igwt79 and ratman4762 were off by one coin. Referring back to the tie breaker rules I posted up front: 3. In the event where there is not a tie for closest guess, the person who guesses 2nd closest to the actual coin count with receive the remaining prize. For this prize the guess must be lower than the actual coin count. So igwt79 wins the second prize package. We'll all know what it is after jbuck makes his pick. Thanks to all the players and a special Thank You to my 2024 Secret Santa for the wonderful gift of those 5 rolls of old unsearched nickels. Happy New Year to all.

Good choice jbuck. It's a mini version of the clock you won in my 10,000 post contest. Same Sergeant of Time theme however.
PM received. I'll package up the clock shortly and get it into the mail.
igwt79 wins Prize B - all of the nickels I found in the 5 rolls minus two 1950 which I will give away separately. Send me a PM with your mailing address.

jbuck clock is in the mail. Let us know when it arrives. PM received igwt79. I'll package up your nickels and send them along likely tomorrow. Quote: Those nickels will be the kick-start of a nickel collection for me, as I have very few. I am very happy! I'm thrilled to hear that. You will have a great start on a 1938-1959 Jefferson set, with a few modern coins including the ~MS63 1963-D that I have in a 2x2. You should have some fun separating the coins by date & mintmark - then picking the best of each for your new collection. I hope the prize inspires you to complete the Jefferson set.
