I saw this coin in a roll of old-ish coins. It stood out due to its luster, but it had a glob of crud? on it and I couldn't help myself. I wiped it with some MS70 and a cotton swab. It brought out this rainbow hue...iridescent . The photos don't begin to show how much. Did I ruin a coin that someone might have wanted?

Looks lightly circulated, so it doesn't matter, since it's only worth face value. I wouldn't recommend doing it to a coin of value. Only use 100% pure acetone or Verdi-Care.

It's a good looking coin, and I don't think you ruined anything.

Nice toning. I'd part with 10 cents for this one.

Thanks. Since it's an S mint, I think I'll put it back. If I need to fill another penny album for someone, this might come in handy,

I tend to agree with everyone here, a nice looking cent that was not ruined. It is a coin worthy of an album placement.
