2024-P Zitkala - Sa Quarter Dollar (Could This Be A Small Cud?)

I found few of this quarter (spike head - die crack) doing my CRH two weeks ago, my question is, could this count as a Cud or is just a nice die crack? Brandmeister Pillar of the Community United States 6548 Posts	Posted 07/19/2025 12:07 pm Donnie, I think to be a Retained Interior Die Break, the separated section needs to remain. That large chip has clearly flaked off completely. As I understand it—and I am no expert in this particular kind of die damage—I believe that elevates it to a Cud. Report this Post to the Staff

You have three basic stages, pre-cud, Retained Cud and Cud. In the order I have stated, is earliest to latest, a full on " Cud" is what you hope to find. This is why I was interested to see other opinions. The biggest thing I've learned about coin collecting is, "details matter!"
