Okay so I came across several of these on ebay recently. Has anybody seen these at all? I don't know when Dansco used to make them, but evidently they are out of print. They are a Lincoln Cent album, but they start at 1935 as opposed to 1909. Not sure why. Perhaps Dansco wanted to give customers an option to avoid many of the earlier, more costly Wheat cents, as all the key dates are before 1935. That said, it's kind of a bizarre album. It looks like it begins at 1935 and ends sometime around 1985 with blank spots. It also includes "proofs" but just calls them S mint coins, as opposed to the whole "proof only" thing. Just interesting. I like finding these old, bizarre Dansco albums. Just an idea for what it looks like.  First page  Last page. Last labeled port is 1982-S, which makes me think that this was produced in the 80's or maybe even 70's.  |

Nice find!  This was probably produced in the early 1970s when San Francisco was still minting the Lincoln Cent for circulation. Dansco future dating holes is a thing. I suppose the Mint was more predictable back then. |

I believe that is considered a "Short Set" Lincoln Cents usually collected as uncirculated since productions were increased in those years.

 with @seamonkey I know of many collectors who divide the Lincoln Cent series into two eras: 1909 to 1934 and post 1934. These folks generally collect the post 1934 cents in MS state, and Dansco apparently made this album to accommodate them. Take a look at my other hobby ... http://www.jk-dk.art |

Interesting! I didn't know that.
I also found another one like this that starts at 1935, but the last port ends at 1995.
If one were doing an album like this though, you could definitely concentrate a bit more on getting really nice and BU coins from 1935 and newer.
The memorial cents aren't hard to find in BU or UNC at all though.

Alright, sorry for the double post.... But I keep seeing these pop up on ebay! I kind of want one honestly. I like the idea of starting a secondary Lincoln Cent that starts at 1935-1940ish. The various ones I've seen end at all different times with their labels. The one I saw recently actually ended at 1974-S. I've seen another end at 95, and I think another one in the 80's.   Kind of hate the last page, though. Lol  Still pretty cool, though! Edited by Humanist1287

For the price of that one plus shipping you could get an 8100 since you said you wished you had just got that in the first place. Then you could take your 7100 and just take out the first two pages and it would be like that one without the odd ending dates.

I had even weighed in on potentially doing dual 7100 albums with extra pages at the end. One higher end set with proofs, and another with Shield cents. But we'll see. |
