Hi,

Im currently looking to check for some pedigree regarding the Norwebs collection, kinda like JJ Pittman they collected extensively world coins but despite some research, I failed to locate when and by which company the Jamaican part was sold (my guess would be one of the Spink sales in the mid 1980's along with the UK part of the collection). I'm sure their holding of Jamaican coins was decently sized with at least 100ish coins with some spectacular coins as youd expect coming from them...

On a similar subject ; I was wondering as well if they had any holdings in South-African proofs? Pittman was a good friend of the couple and collected them (mostly the SAM proof sets), he often sold some top-quality world coins to them over the years so I dont see why they wouldn't have at least a few,(From what I know the Norwebs were particularly interested in the British empire coinage) but I dont recall seeing any slabs with that pedigree so far... Any inputs would be appreciated !

Its quite sad how thet world coin part of that collection was dispersed (at least 4 different auction houses over a few years) its not even clear today how large it was Vs the wonderfull work made by David Akers with the Pittman collection...
