If it wasn't for this forum, I would have bid on this note. I learned here that notes sold in sheet form all start with 99. i like that the seller included a retraction and offers a refund if he is wrong. did you message him acidic?

ohhhh I thought it was you because his post says someone told him it may not be a real error and now he feels bad for posting it. I guess that's better than the ones that just tell you off for letting them know.

Thats kinda why I didn't want to tell him. I wouldn't sell a fake note. Not without letters ten feet tall saying so.

Sure, These notes were originally sold as a sheet. Someone took a pair of scissors and cut this out. Notes sold as a sheet all start with 99. These notes are from a sheet of notes.

I guess you can call this a "cutting error", but it wasn't an error introduced at the factory.

I guess the seller could argue that is an error, an "error in judgment" :-)
Well, it looks like it went for $38 to some winning bidder.
