It might be from one of the provinces rather than the main empire; I'll have to look up the options. But it's definitely from somewhere in there. Report this Post to the Staff

Sap Moderator Australia 16883 Posts	Posted 01/19/2026 5:54 pm Struck in Constantinople (Istanbul), so you will find it listed under "Turkey" in the catalogues. The denomination is 40 para. The date... is always difficult to calculate for Ottoman coins as they didn't make it easy. The accession year is 1255 (Islamic calendar) and the regnal year is 20. Doing the maths, 1255 + 20 - 1 = 1274 Islamic calendar, which converts roughly to AD 1857.
