With 420,000 sets going to be minted will the Dual Date Proof set ever maintain it's level of interest or do you feel the higher mintage number has eroded some of the "hype"? Will the Cent, once again, be the major interest of the set and get cracked out in search of the perfect 70 grade - and if so how much will it sell for to make up for the $107 cost from the Mint?
Fun stuff to ponder................

I have a subscription but only will be getting one set and keeping it in the OGP. I am mostly getting it for the S Cent and to see how well the proof dime will look as I really like that design.

I hear ya CoinForMe. It's kinda like the price of gas, unless you want to walk, bite the bullet and fork the cash over

I want one but will wait until they start to sink on the secondary market.

Hey, it's 14% cheaper than the Uncirculated coin set.
Half as many coins, and doesn't fill the same bill, though.

It's been a few years since I bought a Proof Set, due to escalating prices, but I might buy one this year. The bulk of my US Mint budget this year is going on the Uncirculated Mint Sets, and I'm not rock solid on going through with the Proof Set.

The nicest coin in the 2026 set is the Dime; this design should have been used on a dollar, IMO...

Too old for any kind of bike - if I fall off I'm breaking a hip! And you are right - I usually don't go - definitely prefer staying home....

I just wonder if the US Mint proof sets will always now going to have a starting price of over $100 - or is this just because they are relying on people wanting everything "sesquicentennial" " Semiquincentennial" and will pay it this year?

Some people who walk for exercise have my driving mileage beat, with having driven only 632 miles in the past 365 days. :-)
The last time I filled my tank was December 16th, and have 3/8ths remaining.

Sounds familiar - I bought my 1998 Ford Ranger brand new and still have it - runs like a top and I can't see getting rid of it - it has only 89,000 miles on it. It has the dual distributor/8 spark plug configurated 4 cylinder that doesn't need a tune up till it reaches 100,000 - I might die before I have to put a tune up on it -

4 groups will be buying these:
1) Collectors, who just have to have it.
2) Flipper, (no comment)
3) TV Coin Shows, reporting how rare and valuable these will be.
4) ebay Sellers, who slab everything hoping for a 70
Now which group will buy the majority of them?
