THE 98(O)'s are almost always above average in strike. this one is pretty nice with defined breast feathers. i'll tackle the reverse first. I cant see this side any less than MS66. now the problem side. the jaw chatter along with some in both fields are probably short of MS64. id call the obv MS63+ this leaves netting dilemma as I always weight the obv a tad more for net grading. I dont think they would go MS65 with that obv. MS64, maybe a + is the best I can do. this is a tough call especially since the luster is quite nice.

Nice coin. The obverse has some chatter in the hair, especially above the ear and above the eyebrow. There are some light contact marks on the cap fold, a bit of rash on the chin, and some contacts in the left and right obverse fields. Overall, the obverse is MS-63/MS-63+. The reverse is excellent, with some light chatter on the eagle's left wing (our visual right) and pin pricks in the field beneath that wing. There is a light rim contact at 12:30 on the reverse. The reverse looks MS-65. I'd bourse floor net this to MS-64.

This one is baffling. Please let me know if you see where this one was cleaned. It has full cartwheel luster. I had this one at 64.

They are misreading the light surface scratching on the obverse. That isn't from a cleaning. That's from the New Orleans Mint tossing the poor dollar bags around like sacks of grain. These surfaces are original.

I'm not convinced the piece has been cleaned.
