I've contacted the auction company. Sent them an image of an authentic one and they will not pull it. Currently $400 is bid on it.

Due to the position of the last feather, this appears to be an altered 1897. I don't think it's truly a counterfeit, just an altered coin meant to deceive novice collectors. The other digits in the date look good, my reasoning on an altered 1897.
