CAC - Known as "So-Called Dollars," the Denver Mint struck these pieces to celebrate its opening in 1905, although regular issue coinage was not distributed until 1906. These are widely believed to have been struck to test the machinery ahead of its full opening. These pieces are very hard to come by, as they were originally acquired at the Denver Mint's opening ceremony in 1905. CAC Grading accepts So-Called Dollars struck by any U.S. Mint. This piece is graded CAC AU58BN
