Jaobler Pillar of the Community United States 6410 Posts	Posted Yesterday 11:28 am I won the first raffle drawing at our club meeting last month. Certainly a decent coin to win, but surface quality isn't great. What are your thoughts on grade, and should I maybe hit this coin with some Verdi-Care? I don't want to try acetone since I have seen negative color changes on copper coins from acetone treatment. Before trying anything else I think I'll soak it in some hot distilled water with a little Dawn dish soap, then rinse with more distilled water. I'd appreciate your input. Thanks! I learned this at the school of hard knocks. Fresh pure acetone will not change the color of your coin. I see a speck of verdigris on the reverse.
