What years were the Kennedy half dollars 40% silver? I have a bunch and need to know which ones have value beyond the face.
Thanks

1976 are available as 40% silver, uncirculated and proof.
1992 and later are available as 90% silver proof.
In both cases, the Cu-Ni clad were still made as well.

Remember to also keep 1987s as well as anything 2002 or later. These are not silver but they were not minted for circulation and will command a higher price than face value.

Only found this site about a week ago and it has already caused my wife to think I am crazy (she may be right). Never thought about searching rolls of coins before; anyway, I got 20 rolls of half dollars today. Just got through searching them. Found no silver, or 40%; however, I did find several 1995's that look like they just came from the mint and a really nice looking 2006. The best looking coin is a 2001 with a couple of scratches on the cheek, but the coin looks like a mirror and really looks great. Any reason to keep any of these?
