Now I'm thinking the letters swirl around the center of the code puzzle (i.e. a whirlpool with the center of the puzzle being the nexus, possibly being the letter X.) And since we are in the Northern Hemisphere, the rotation should be counter-clockwise...)

But it still doesn't quite work out yet... Hmmmm....

Still pondering...

I'm now leaning towards Thoreau or Emerson.

However, the code of backwards whirlpooling, X marked (or not), 7 x 7 block of letter & numbers & names confusion, is still eluding me...

Here is a cool Thoreau quote though...

I think I need more clues....

Where does your whirlpool/looplrihw start?

What are we missing as far as letters?

How do you show numbers with letters?

(I'm obviously not so smart when it's not my code! )

Meanwhile I wait for my next Nod clue....

This is a good one. I think I have spent way more time on it that my progress seems to show.
