what can I do to stop the rust ?
and what would some nice ones AU-55+ not nesescerally the rare varities cost?

If you already have rust, there isn't much you can do. The rust starts when the coin's chrome finish gets worn down or gets scratched. Add some moisture or humidity, and you get rust.

Nicer ones aren't all that expensive -- check ebay for an idea on their value.
